Today i bought a copy of 501 Must-See Movies from Border's for $7.99! What a bargain
The book has 501 of the best movies from 10 genres: Action/Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Horror, Musicals, Romance, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Mystery/Thriller, War and Westerns
Well before i read it i knew that there were many movies that i had never seen.
These are the number of movies i've seen in each genre:
Action/Adventure: 19
Comedy: 11
Drama: 17
Horror: 2 (i'm not a horror person)
Musical: 18
Romance: 20
Sci-Fi/Fantasy: 16

Total of: 133 out of 501. Well i see i have some catching up to do. Granted there are some movies in the book that i have no interest seeing whatsoever. But i've already made a list of some movies that i want to see!

daily talks
Every Monday there will be a new Star of the Week with info and my thoughts on that actor/actress/director
Every Thursday i will talk about a classic movie (from my list of movies)
and every Sunday i will be rooting for my team The Dallas Cowboys!!!
Today i checked out 5 movies from my local library:
The Third Man, Some Like It Hot, The Haunting, The Great Escape, and Amelie
I've seen The Third Man and Some Like It Hot but never seen the other three. I am looking forward to watching them if only i didn't have a stupid essay to write. C'est la vie!
FYI i don't have cable, TCM or Netflix so i have to rely on the trusty library or youtube for my movies :(

day 1 -10/4/10
Today i started my blog. Well frankly i was sick and tired of not having a way to express my love for classic movies. That is the chief purpose of this blog. i will write about my experiences of watching those glorious black and white (and technicolor too!) movies, which, frankly, blow today's movies out of the water. I also decided to start posting because my friends, many of who are in college, know didly squat about old movies. An old movie to them is something from the 80's. What really gets me is that none of them have a clue of what or who i'm talking about (ex: Is John Wayne a singer?) The idea! Anyway i love love love classic movies. I've seen my weight in old movies. Well i think i'll stop for now. Can't wait for tomorrow!!!
